so guys... i have a wanna-be NF engine with the injectors in the manifold...
and i have an idea?

what would happen if i yoinked the pistons outta that, threw it in an mc block, and tossed a 20v head on there??

can such a beast be made? perhaps the "low budget" 20v ???

psh, id rather BORE the mc block then shell out money for pistons..... i can get a bore job done for practically nothing.

i see here that the NF has a 10 to 1 compression, and the same stroke as the mc... so me thinks the rods and pistons in the mc block would work... maybe even the mc rods would work on the nf pistons???

in either account... if we do some math here.... mc with stock pistons = 7.8-1 comp
nf with stock pistons =10.1-1 comp
mc with 20v head=6.8 (guess)comp
a drop of one compression point aprx
so if it drops one point wouldnt 10.1-1 become 9.1-1 for the 20v?? lets say things were worse and it dropped to 8.5 to one? thats what ima lookin for!!! :)
heck if its too high i can just shim the head.... but if its too low i gotta shell out big money for pistons... :(

sooo help me :D

Yes, you'll have to use the NF crank to since the MC journals are smaller than the NF.

HP levels will be an issue with the weaker parts.

Just my opinion, but my HP goals are well past what the bottom end can handle. I'd rather run the MC2 with the 20V head and run the low compression then have to worry....but for most people the bottom end would prolly be ok I guess.

yes, but he wants something for everyday, and super low compression doesn't exactly result in good fuel economy.
