well i am new to the audi scene and need some help. i am looking for header, intakes, exhaust systems. anything to do motor wise with a 1990 audi 80 2.0. i want to get a little more out of it. so if any one can give me some help i thank you. also i have seen some chips on ebay and some moduales that "claim" 7-20 hp. now i know in my world(mopar) these are a waste of money. i even found a "chip" that said stage 2 on it for audi. i guess the wire into your intake sensor.are theis crap or not. my guess is they are.

Not sure who makes a chip I have 2.0 head ported and polished w/ a hor cam in it. You would need to make some mods to it make it fit (it's a 95 jetta head) but it would be the cheapest way to go, if your just looking for little more power.

The head on your 80 is the same or similar head as on all non-crossflow VW 4-cylinders. I'd recommend an AutoTech or Techtonics camshaft as a good way to get more power out of that mill. Try that first and if it isn't enough then go the swap route. IMO 8-valves are great engines in Mk1's and just decent for getting where you need to go in anything else.

I believe you can use any of the 4-cyl "hydraulic" cams for that engine. The only thing that's really different about the 2.0 head is the intake / injector port setup.

TT (no affiliation) has a good one that a buddy used with that engine ...I believe it was a 268. His engine responded very well to that cam...

Dont waste money keeping the engine in NA form.
You can get a Cam from Autotech and it will work.My advice is to seriously consider some Head upgrades.8V,16V or 20V...you choose. If you want to keep it NA then my advice is to do the following :
1. Slap on a 20V Head
2. ITB's
3. Passenger side EM from a 40V V8
4. Some form of management, maybe 034EFI Stage Ia.
If your looking @ Ebay for modifications and "chips" then your better off selling the car to someone that will not torture it.
Best of Luck...

Due to the nature of the fuel injection on that engine (and CIS VAG products in general), no one really makes any aftermarket intake manifolds. You can't do cone filters or large intake piping due to how the stock injection works (fuel metering head, air box, etc.) The stock pieces do quite well in their stock role in the system.

Next, due to the limited space on these engines, no one (that I know of ) has made a header for the Audi 2.0 4cyl, VW Fox and Audi 4ks (fwd).

Wizza's right that you could a hybrid with other multivalve heads, but this, depending on your ability is pretty involved and would undoubtedly involve some fabrication.

I had one of these 80's for a while and I figured about the most you could do (within reason) is put in a better cam, do some head work and get a better (custom) exhaust. Mine was tired and it never made it that far...
