ok, i got a question for you techies. my MC1 has a static compression ratio of 7.8:1 correct? ok, so is there a way to calculate what the compression ratio is under say, 15psi? i'm just curious to see what the compression ratio of a motor under 20+psi compared to the static compression ratio of a diesel engine is, like 21.1:1, then sometimes possibly turboing the diesel engines would increase that too.
the main reason i'm thinking about this is to sort of determine the strength of the iron inline engines. if we've got guys here making 400hp on less boosted compression than the diesels have static, then we know we've got a pretty stinkin' beefy bottom end. that and i'm just curious to see what the compression ratio goes to under boosted situations.
