I know a few places that could make them if they had the measurements, but they wouldn't be cheap. $400/each for billet aluminum 944 hubs, so I'm sure they would charge even more for a limited run of something custom like S2 ones.

So what about swapping the entire hub carriers? For example, I have a 200 20v with 4 carriers... Could I swap those into my 92 80q?

Deal breaker? Have rear hubs off a B6A4, but apparently they're rather different from B5s (hat offset). B5 left --> B6 right (pic courtesy 'wesleyfbm' of audizine)

Help! I've read all the writeups on this, but have barely started and already hit a snag. I've got a '90 80Q into which I'm going to be transplanting an 016 transmission and doing a 5-lug conversion. In preparation for same, I got a set of rear axles from a CQ, one of which will end up on the front of the 80. And I bought a pair of used hubs off a '93 S4. I tried fitting them together and... the outer CVs on the CQ axles are nowhere near a match for the S4 hubs! The splined area would have to be 1/4" larger in diameter to even think about engaging. What am I doing wrong? Edit: I've done some more research and have come up with two possibilities. Some people seem to think that UrS4 front and rear hubs are not the same. But in ETKA they appear to be the same? The other is that B3 cars with 82mm wheel bearings have larger hub bores than cars with 75mm bearings. Is that my problem? I thought CQs had 82mm bearings all around but it looks like they've got 82 in the front and 75 in the rear. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

URS4/6 V8Q(non ufo) front and rear hubs are the same. Yes 82mm front on 20v's only(maybe later 10v cars too?) 75mm rear on all B3's 5ktq hubs for the rear might work but require earlier axles with a securing nut not the later bolt. So you would need 20v bearing housings or different hubs. viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6026&hilit=conversion

Yeah that's what I've realized... it's all about the bearing size. If you've got 75mm bearings you use the A4 hubs, apparently in the rear the different hub offset can be offset (sorry) by using the A4 rotors.
If you've got 82mm bearings (front on most 20V B3s), you use the UrS or V8 hubs with stock rotors and shim the caliper carrier a little. Presumably if you're like me and have 75mm bearings up front, you can use the A4 hubs but what rotors do you use?
My 4KTQ has a 5-lug conversion done with older hardware as you mention, but I know you have to be careful about mixing-and-matching because the older cars don't have the stepped hub and different-sized inner bearing races like the newer ones.
I'm also a little unclear about what CV joints will fit on what axles. I got some info from an EMPI catalog indicating that the large hardware (when you've got 108mm inners and/or 82mm bearings) can't be mixed/matched with small (90/100mm inners and 75mm bearings) hardware - the axle splines are different at both ends. But I talked to Marc Swanson this past weekend and if I understand him correctly, any inner CV will fit any axle? Obviously that would open up a lot of possibilities.

(thank you rallyquattro for the info ) Quote: You need to swap the spring seat from a 5k to 4k units (cut old out and weld new in). Then you need Ur-q ball joints (034 has them cheap) and Ur-q shocks. You can get billies at $135 each. You also need Golf GTI MK II outer tie rod ends. Finally rear 4kq driveshafts to match the struts if using 5kt struts/hubs. If you use 200 struts/hubs you will need 90q outer CVs to match the hubs.
You basically end up with the same setup as Ur-q, which gives you nice choices for brakes and wheel. Not to mention it's a lot beefier than the 4kq/90q stuff.
Breakdown of parts: 1. 5kqt Front struts (Mine are none UFO and sport the g60s) 2. 5kqt Rear Hubs 3. URQ Shocks4. URQ Lower BJ's 5. MK2 Outer Tie rod ends 6. Rear 4kq CV shafts to swap into the front Am I going to have a problem with the Bilsteins I scored out of a 200 20v? They seem to line right up with everything

How much will my offset change if I take machined urS6 hubs in front on my B4 quattro? Would be nice with S2-hubs but its a PITA to find them for decent money, and since im parting out an urS6 i would like to use them and save some cash.

Thank you, not that huge difference then!

Are the hubs from the hp2 typ urs6 struts the same offset? I have 2 urs6 donors and they have the hp2 brakes
